L.M.v.d. Rohe Daybed Barcelona

back to chaiselongue   Origin No matter how you call it, Barcelona chaiselongue, Barcelona Bed or Barcelona daybed, Ludwig Mies van der Rohe did not design it for the world exposition in Barcelona 1929. He designed the Barcelona daybed later in 1930 for the Philip Johnson’s apartment in New York. Even if it was designed for a different reason the Barcelona daybed is designed in the style of the Barcelona armchair. It brings the same luxury and comfort into rooms as the Barcelona armchair does.   Description Daybed with leather covered mattress and neck cushion on woodframe with chromed legs.   Quality The mattress is filled with polyurethane foam and padded with dacron wool. The cover is made of high quality calfskin. Leather thickness approximately 2mm. Chromed legs. Chroming is 28 micron. The frame is made of mahogany.
